Empowering hope futures
changing lives
Good Friends Foundation is a Kenyan nonprofit organization championing children’s rights through access to quality education and sustainable livelihoods. By supporting education and strengthening families and community systems, we ensure children are protected, supported, and able to remain in school.
Education support
Opening doors to dignity, hope, and opportunity
We make education possible for children who would otherwise be forced out of school by hardship and exploitation.
Across Kenya, too many children are denied the chance to learn because of poverty, early marriage, or child labour. They lose their classrooms, and with them, their dreams. Not because they lack potential, but because life pushes them away from opportunity.
Our education program enrolls children who are left out and supports those already in school but lacking essentials like uniforms, books, and materials, ensuring they can learn and stay in class.
Livelihood programs
Empowering guardians to sustain education
A child cannot stay in school if their family is too burdened by poverty. Guardians often face painful choices: send a child to class, or send them to work.
Our livelihood programs give families the skills and opportunities to earn with dignity. Through vocational training, agribusiness, and small business support, we strengthen households so they can sustain their children’s education and build independence.
Protecting Futures
Child Rights & Community Advocacy
Our commitment: ensuring every child's rights are recognized, protected, and upheld. We drive lasting change by empowering children, families, and communities to understand, claim, and defend these rights.
We collaborate with local and international partners to prioritize children's rights in policy and service delivery.
Through advocacy and accountability, we strengthen systems to protect children from exploitation and ensure access to education, safety, and opportunity. We hold leaders accountable, supporting responsive, effective, and sustainable systems for children.
Our Approach
Tackling Root Causes, Creating Lasting Change
At Good Friends Foundation, we recognize that a child’s education cannot flourish where families lack stability and support. That is why our approach strengthens both the child and their environment — ensuring children remain protected, enrolled in school, and supported by caregivers and community systems that nurture their growth.
By reinforcing family support structures and promoting access to quality education, we address the root causes of vulnerability, reduce the risks that disrupt childhood, and build a foundation for dignity, resilience, and long-term community well-being.
